In partnership with the Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies, University of Oxford, the
Buddhist Federation of Norway organized a two-day workshop on religious minorities
in Buddhist majority states. Experts on Buddhism, as well as Asian politics, from more
that 12 countries from around the world met at the Oxford Centre for Buddhist studies,
University of Oxford in March 2014. Centre Director Prof. Richard Gombrich chaired the
workshop. Important issues such as Buddhism´s relations to various states in Asia,
interreligious relations, growing politicization of religious identities, as well as global
religious anxieties, were discussed.
